Description
This pen is made from the teak wood decking from the battleship USS New Jersey (BB-62). Her nick name was “Big J" or "Black Dragon." The New Jersey was an Iowa-class battleship and was the second ship of the United States Navy to be named after the state of New Jersey. “Big J” earned more battle stars for combat actions than any other battleship in US Navy history. She served in all major wars from WWII to Vietnam and was decommissioned for the last time in 1991 after serving more than 21 years in the active US fleet. The Battleship New Jersey is now a museum located in Camden New Jersey.
The pen comes with a certificate of authenticity.
The USS Battleship New Jersey pen comes in a custom engraved wooden box and if a rollerball is your selection, it will utilize a "Schmidt Style" rollerball refill which is readily available at any stationary store. If you are choosing a fountain pen, cartridges or a converter may be used. However, these refills and fountain pen ink is available in the Pens Accessories & Supplies section of this website.
